In Ibsen\u2019s play \u201cGhosts\u201d, Osvald asks his mother to help him to die. Together with her, all over the world societies have doubts if there is a human right to self-determined dying. We met our Osvald, the 81 years old Margot, on April 1st in 2014 and stayed with her during her last days, when she organized her last affairs, went to her last appointments, to goodbye-dinners and finally joined her on her way to Switzerland, to a place, where a few organizations\u00a0<\/span>are allowed to practice euthanasia.<\/span><\/p>\n

IBSEN:GHOSTS documents this special encounter and doesn\u2019t solve the moral dilemma of medically assisted suicide, it adds more dilemmas to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is one allowed to show in theatre? When do we become voyeurs?<\/span><\/p>\n

IBSEN: GHOSTS is a show about dying and immortality at the same time:<\/span><\/p>\n

Markus&Markus<\/strong> are a theatre collective from Hildesheim, Germany. Markus Sch\u00e4fer loves communicating, coming up with ideas and performing. Markus Wenzel prefers working out things by himself in a dark room somewhere, but also to write texts and perform. Lara-Joy Hamman keeps everything in check, both artistically and organisationally.\u00a0Katarina Eckold produces, films and edits all the video material, as well as being responsible for images in general. Their works are characterized by intensive research, whose results are then edited into films, the collective is interested in the ways in which the stage and reality interact.<\/span><\/p>\n

Markus&Markus have received George Tabori F\u00f6rderpreis, \u201cBest OFF \u2212 Festival Freier Theater Preis and the Jury Prize of the Kapitalismusschredder Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n
